LAUNCHING A BRAND NEW FIRST-PERSON SHOOTER GAME BY MAXIMISING CONTENT CREATORS, IN-GAME CREATIVE AND PARTNERSHIP ASSETS

THE CHALLENGE

Web3War, the free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter game developed by Roll1ng Thund3rz, approached AND THE NEW to drive their player sign-ups, increase their Daily Active Users, and build more awareness and hype for the game.

As a new blockchain-enabled Web3 video game that rewards high-skill gameplay and tactical superiority thanks to their custom-developed Skill2Earn mechanism, there were two contrasting audiences to appeal to and engage: first-person shooter gamers and crypto investors. Whilst there is some cross-over between these two, bot audiences had very different desires. Our challenge was to build out the messaging, creative and performance strategy to positively engage both audiences whilst driving sign-ups. Challenge accepted!

THE STRATEGY

We implemented a performance-focused marketing strategy across two core areas: influencer marketing and paid social media ads.

To begin, we needed to source and create content that would work for our ad strategy. We achieved this across four pillars: influencer and content creator paid ad content, content creator gameplay lobbies, owned paid ad creatives, and competitions and giveaways.

By working directly with content creators, we created a host of new creative assets alongside a series of end-of-funnel ads running across Meta and TikTok.

THE RESULTS

Driving more users than Web3War has ever seen and delivering them at the lowest cost per acquisition! All of this in addition to growing their social channel following and active community members beyond casual players. And just like that, Web3War download numbers are rising... and fast!
