THE CHALLENGE
The British Basketball League’s ambition is to become one of the best basketball leagues in the world. AND THE NEW were selected to help drive ideation, concept creation and content production for the BBL’s social channels, covering all Hero, Hub, and Hygiene content throughout the 2022/2023 season.
THE STRATEGY
Building on the momentum of the “Know Our Name” season launch campaign AND THE NEW had developed and delivered, our approach to the 2022/23 British Basketball League season was centred on building the hype and excitement for the players in the league, whilst expanding basketball in the UK to new eyes and ears.
The AND THE NEW Content Production Studio worked hard throughout the season to develop an entire suite of content from Play-Off Final pre-game insights through to ongoing MVP announcements.
THE RESULTS
We saw huge growth across the board for the British Basketball League on their social media channels including a 162% growth in social media impressions soaring from 11.8 million to 31 million. Our content helped drive a 34% growth in social following with video views across social media skyrocketing by over 1,300% increasing from 1.4 million to 20 million.
